About Us

Both Stephen and Junith love to cook and often follow online recipes. They have favourite recipes and their system for re-finding them consisted of keeping browser tabs open or trying to search on Google. It wasn’t ideal but it mostly worked. Then came Henry, their son, born prematurely in October 2016. As any parent will know, time became incredibly precious and finding recipes quick suddenly became a lot more important.

Another issue they struggled with was shopping for ingredients using online recipes. A lot of cooks / online food bloggers take the time and effort to tell a story about their recipes, something we both enjoy. However, when you have a screaming baby and you’re in a rush at the market, scrolling through a lot of text (with ads and social media prompts sometimes popping in from all directions) caused a lot stress. We just wanted to find the recipe quick and get straight to the ingredients.

I think it’s really important to note that we didn’t make Remy to avoid visiting all the fantastic recipe sites and cooking blogs that we still love. Without them Remy wouldn’t exist and we’ve made sure to always link back to the original site and encourage you to click through and use the original site for cooking. Often they have additional notes, more photos and even videos. However, we made Remy as a single place to store links to all these wonderful recipes. It’s kind of like a specialized Pinterest made for recipes.

We’re really happy you’re here and would love to hear from you with feedback and suggestions.
